Crushes or Crushed?!

Girls can't stay single for long. One breakup leads to another hookup, not necessarily real. We as a gender need some excitement in our life and who better than our crushes. We fall for men left and right, anyone who passes the checklist is Mr. Right (for the time being). Girls have it tough, 5 minutes in the real world and we're out there searching for the next Mr. Perfect.  Then guess what we do? Crush, and oh man, we crush hard! Stages of a Crush life : 1. Look at a guy - Yup, mostly this is all it takes. Just one look and if he's cute enough, voila! 2. Coincidence - Luckily (unluckily) running into him again and again. Try not to stare, eh? 3. Amateur Sleuthing - Girls, get your Sherlock hats out and get investigating. Get to know his name(most important). It's fairly easy : his friends, colleagues, id card, employee records or going through all the guys living in that area on Facebook. *been there, done that* 4. Prof

Collateral Beauty - Actual Damage

I was privileged to watch the premier show of Collateral Beauty sponsored by DesiMartini and Warner Bros. Rating - 3/5 The cast and acting was superb and this is perhaps the sole reason for this rating. The story was mediocre, dialogues would've been powerful had they been backed by a believable enough storyline. Ending was predictable. The movie had its highs and lows, mostly lows. It felt as if the director failed to connect the dots. One scenes lead to another with no connection whatsoever. At one point, I just wanted the movie to end, had I not been appreciating Will Smith. If you have nothing better to do on the weekend, go for this. If you do, stay away. I think the biggest highlights in the movie were the trailers. *Wonder Woman* is back and she is kicking some serious ass. *Passengers* Chris and JLaw are mind-blowing!  Now fingers crossed for movies to be as good as the trailers.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Review

A two hour propaganda on being an ethical, law abiding person, with awesome graphics is what this movie boasts of. Replace the guns for wands, add mystical animals, an abused teenage boy, an impersonator and there's your story. I will rate it 8/10 The movie is great but not marvellous. It just doesn't live up to our expectations.  It gives us a glimpse of the Wizard World but doesn't satiate our desires. This movie only fuels our need for a Harry Potter spin off. My issues with the movie were: 1. They do not say the spells out aloud. 2. Which makes it a silent lightening contest. 3. The animals, though amazing do not make up for the story or lack thereof. 4. I love Redmayne but the rest of the cast could've been better. Highlights: 1. Graphics 2. Concept of all creatures. 3. It's Harry Potter's World! 4. Good triumphs Evil (obviously) Apparently, Americans messing up English hasn't changed in the Wizarding World either. Mug

From A Grad To An Employee - The Journey

I have a job! Yay! Or so I thought. I went from being a tensed unemployed graduate to an unhappily employed one. I thought I signed up for a job, it hit me a few days later that I had in fact signed away all rights to my 12-hours a day sleep. Remember those days when you see the rising sun because you have been up all night, they seem like medieval history now. Sleeping in till noon? That's ancient history. I went from being a person who went for movies on a Monday morning to a weekend dud. Yes, I am disappointed. From someone who was ready for anywhere anytime, settling in this life of weekends or to having-a-life-only-on-weekends is quite a challenge. To know me and every other college grad  in short - 1. I am not punctual. In college I was ALWAYS late for class. If the class starts at 8:30, I reach at 9. But when you are working, it is not as simple as just your teacher warning you. You have bosses who keep a track of your record and would evaluate you on a monthly bas

Sexism - An accepted Reality

Definitions of sexism as per the dictionary - 1. The belief that people of one sex or gender are inherently superior to people of the other sex or gender. 2.Different treatment or discrimination based on a difference of sex or gender. 3. Disadvantage or unequal opportunity arising from the cultural dominance of one gender over the other. 4. Promotion or expectation or assumption of people to behave in accordance with or deviate from a gender role. It is no hidden fact that we live in a patriarchal society where men have dominated women for centuries and continue to do so. Changes have come but society in its intricacy remains male dominated. This is not a fight between the genders but a thought process. Recently bollywood released a movie "Ki and Ka" where ki stands for the woman and ka for the man. The movie portrays a reversal of roles in a household where the husband aspires to be a perfect housewife and the wife aspires to excel in her profession. Their family, fri
